As noted above (see BB 29), male/female dub duo Alpha & Omega were one of the first outfits to emerge from the ‘UK Steppers’ scene during the late 1980s. ‘Watch And Pray,’ the debut issue on their own Alpha & Omega label, was a favourite of Jah Shaka and other UK sound systems during the early 1990s, its TV soundtrack reporting on the horrors of the Los Angeles riots sparked by the brutal police beating of Rodney King in 1992. ‘Justice Has To Be Seen’ is an alternate reading of the A-side, with the hypnotic voice of Tanernishka floating above the melodica melody and choral chants of the original.
